Objective£º
Methods£º Among the patients with psychoses, hospitalized in Department of Psychiatry of the Chosun University Hospital from March 2001 to October 2002, case histories of the patients with delusions about the internet were described.
Case Reports£º Of the three psychotic patients with delusions about the internet, two patients were female and in their late twenties, one patient was male and in his late teens. In terms of psychotic episodes, two were in their first episodes and one was in the second. The internet took part in the formation and content of delusions in the patients, and the symptoms gave considerable distress to them. Although those symptoms were improved with treatment, the patients failed to get insight on those.
Conclusions£º This case reports suggested that the new symptoms on ¡¯delusions about internet¡¯ has appeared in Korean patients with psychoses as well. With the increased use of the internet, it is estimated that these symptoms may be more frequently reported, and may become important features in diagnosing psychoses.
